About the Site

Kamaljit began in the summer of 2009, a summer marked by Jay Sean's debut on American radio. With his single, "Down," playing everywhere, I realized just how far Jay had come, and figured the time was ripe to start a fanlisting for him. After receiving approval from TheFanlistings.org, I began building the website that you see today.

When the time came to find a name to call this new fansite, I searched for something personal and unique to Jay Sean. I remembered his song "Who is Kamaljit" off his debut album, Me Against Myself, and thought it would be much appropriate to christen his fanlisting with his real name.

This website is currently hosted at my domain, bumplum.

About the Owner

My name is Raisy, and I have been designing and maintaining websites since early 2002. I've pretty much dabbled in nearly every kind of site, from collectives to message boards to layout depositories. My friend introduced me to Jay Sean sometime in late 2007; she showed me his "Ride It" video on YouTube, and together we ooh'd and aah'd over this incredibly talented R&B crooner. I think what struck us the most as intriguing was the fact that Jay was not just British, but British Asian.
